J&K LG reaches Delhi to meet Amit Shah for High level Review of the J&K situation
New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today reached New Delhi to meet representatives of the Central Government, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to devise a strategy to counter targeted killings started by the militants with seven persons killed in the past week.
In this crucial meeting proposed later this afternoon, the strategy prepared by the LG administration to deal with the terrorists targeting the minorities will also be discussed. The meeting was called immediately after Home Minister Amit Shah returned from his Gujarat tour. The country’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla are also expected to be present in this important meeting. Apart from this, officials of intelligence agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir administration will also be current in the meeting.
Sources said that the Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor would take a detailed review of the current law and order situation and prevent terrorist attacks in the Kashmir Valley. Sources said that in the high-level meeting on Thursday, Amit Shah was briefed about the new conspiracy of terrorists to strike easy targets and the steps taken to tighten security. Shah has directed the officials to ensure that those involved in the killings are arrested, and such incidents do not recur.
