SDM Aswan Ram Chiravan dismissed after a woman staffer ties his shoelaces
Bhopal, Jan 25 (WD): In a recent development in Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Aswan Ram Chiravan faced dismissal after a photograph went viral on social media. The image captured a woman employee tying his shoelaces during a program related to the ‘Prana-Pratishtha’ of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
As per reports, the SDM, who was stationed in Chitrangi Division of Singrauli District, defended the incident, claiming the woman had tied his laces voluntarily due to an injury. In response, the woman stated that she acted willingly, refuting any coercion.
Despite these justifications, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav deemed the act highly condemnable, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the utmost respect for women. Consequently, he ordered the immediate dismissal of the SDM on Thursday.
This incident occurred just days after another SDM faced suspension for allowing the assault of two youths who overtook his official vehicle on the road. The youths were reportedly beaten up in the presence of the SDM, prompting Chief Minister Yadav to issue suspension orders in response to the unacceptable conduct.
