J&K Govt to fill over 12,000 vacancies in Different department to tackle unemployment Soon

In a significant move to combat unemployment, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced plans to fill more than 12,000 vacant positions across various government departments. This initiative aims to address the longstanding issue of job scarcity and provide opportunities for skilled individuals in the region.

According to an official document, the Jammu and Kashmir administration will be filling 12,264 positions that have remained vacant in various government departments for an extended period. This recruitment drive follows the successful filling of 31,830 vacancies since 2019 through multiple recruitment drives conducted by the government.

"The selections made so far, totaling 31,830, have been carried out in a fair, transparent, and expedient manner. Interviews have been waived for positions up to pay level-5," the document stated, highlighting the government's commitment to a robust and efficient recruitment process.

The vacancies will be filled across departments such as health, Jal Shakti, social welfare, rural development, and others. Officials have assured that the recruitment process will prioritize transparency, efficiency, and adherence to established guidelines and procedures.

"We have identified a significant number of vacant posts in various departments, particularly in the health sector. Multiple recruitment drives are planned for this year to swiftly fill all vacant positions," officials mentioned, emphasizing the government's focus on strengthening its workforce and improving service delivery.

The selection process will be rigorous to ensure merit-based appointments, maintaining the integrity of the civil services. This strategic approach is aimed at enhancing productivity, promoting inclusive development, and contributing to the overall socio-economic growth of the region.

It is noteworthy that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a decline in the unemployment rate among graduate individuals aged 15 years, according to data from the Ministry of State for Labour and Employment. The region recorded an unemployment rate of 22.8% for graduates in 2021-22, which decreased to 18.3% in 2022-23, reflecting positive trends in employment opportunities.

In addition to these efforts, the Jammu and Kashmir Home department has recently referred over 4,000 vacancies in police constable posts to the Services Selection Board, further demonstrating the government's commitment to addressing unemployment challenges comprehensively.

The upcoming recruitment drives are anticipated to contribute significantly to job creation, skill development, and overall economic empowerment, aligning with the government's vision of a prosperous and thriving Jammu and Kashmir.
