IPS Pooja Yadav is from Haryana and has worked in Canada and Germany after completing her M.Tech. But she left her job, worked hard and became an IPS officer. Recently, a web series called Aspirants depicted the story of three friends who wanted to clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams and become IPS officers. Worked in Germany and Canada
Pooja had completed her schooling in Haryana. After which, she did her M.Tech in Biotechnology and Food Technology. She then worked in Canada and Germany for a few years.
This is why she left her job abroad
As per UPSC Pathshala report, After working in Canada and Germany for a few years, Pooja Yadav realized that instead of contributing to the development of India, she was working for the development of another country. After this, she left the job and decided to give UPSC exam.
Cleared UPSC in second attempt
In order to serve the nation, Pooja left her job and started preparing for UPSC. But she failed in the first attempt. She then got success in her second attempt and got appointed as an IPS of 2018 cadre.
Had a difficult journey
Pooja Yadav first did MTech and then left her job abroad and became an IPS officer, but it was not so easy for her. Pooja's family was not very financially well-off and due to this she had to face many problems.
She worked as receptionist and gave tuitions
Pooja’s family always supported her but she later faced financial problems. Because of financial issues, she gave tuition to the children and worked as receptionist during her post-graduation.

Pooja Yadav believes, “Preparing for the UPSC exam can be a long and tedious process. You may feel disappointed at times, but there is no need to worry. You need to give time to your hobbies along with your preparation, by this you will be able to keep your mind fresh and your output will be much better.” Pooja Yadav to women candidates preparing for UPSC exam said, "Society can demotivate you at times, but you should not let your attention wander. Once you clear the exam then there is no discrimination and everyone is treated equally.
Got married to IAS Vikalp Bharadwaj
According to the report, Pooja Yadav got married to IAS Vikalp Bhardwaj on February 18, 2021. They met each other at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. Pooja's husband, Vikalp is a 2016 batch officer of the Kerala Cadre, but after marriage, he has requested the transfer to Gujarat cadre.

Pooja Yadav is socially active on the Internet. About 2.5 lakh people follow her on Instagram. She feels that no other platform is better than social media for interaction and for expressing views. This can also be helpful in bringing a change to society.
