Cyber Police Reasi Recover ₹15 Lakh in 10 Days, Trace ₹1.34 Crore in 2025

Reasi, December 22:
In a significant achievement against cyber crime, the Cyber Police Station, District Reasi has successfully recovered approximately ₹15 lakh in multiple cyber fraud cases registered within its jurisdiction.

The recovery was made possible due to the sustained efforts of the Cyber Police team led by Dy.SP Headquarters Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal, under the supervision of Addl. SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed (JKPS) and the overall supervision of SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh (JKPS).

Police officials informed that during the year 2025, the Cyber Police Station Reasi has traced a total amount of ₹1.34 crore in various cyber fraud complaints. Out of this, ₹73 lakh has already been returned to rightful owners, while ₹61 lakh has been kept under lien as part of ongoing legal procedures.

In comparison, the Cyber Cell Reasi had recovered around ₹24 lakh in 2024, whereas the recovery amount in 2025 has increased to ₹73 lakh, marking a 204 percent rise in the recovery rate.

Apart from financial recoveries, the Cyber Police Station Reasi has also recovered 110 missing mobile phones in the last six months, taking the total recovery this year to 153 mobile phones worth approximately ₹38 lakh. Many of these mobiles, including high-end Apple iPhones, were recovered from outside the state. Most of the recovered phones belonged to tourists from other states who had visited District Reasi.

Meanwhile, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh (JKPS) once again appealed to the general public to remain cautious against increasing cyber threats such as phishing, digital arrest scams, OTP frauds, fake emails, malicious links and fraudulent websites.

He urged citizens to immediately report cyber-related incidents by calling the National Cyber Helpline 1930, lodging complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in, and reporting missing mobile phones through www.ceir.gov.in.

District Police Reasi reiterated its commitment to ensuring digital safety and financial security of the public.
